Wood Grain Decoral System

The Decoral dye sublimation process is a heat transfer system.

The Linetec wood grain process uses the AAMA 2604 Gold Series Decoral powder coatings.

These finishes meet the stringent standards of AAMA 2604-13 for color uniformity, specular gloss, dry film hardness and adhesion, as well as resistance to impact, chemicals, detergents, scratches, corrosion, salt spray and fading due to ultraviolet light. The coatings also are fire retardant, and resistant to water and humidity. Unlike natural wood, the finished aluminum does not swell, rot, warp or attract insects.

The Waterfall event center features endless skylight provided by Super Sky, finished by Linetec

Waterfall-Banquet--2014--2webLocated minutes from the heart of Philadelphia, The Waterfall is one of Delaware’s most elegant catering facilities. Renovated in 2014 and reopened in Jan. 2015, it accommodates parties up to 500 people in more than 18,000 square feet. As guests pass through the rotunda of The Waterfall event center, they enter the cocktail room with 18-foot-tall ceilings that feature an “endless” skylight. This 59-foot-long, custom vault skylight with gabled ends was manufactured and installed by Super Sky Products Enterprises, LLC.

Linetec finished the 1,307-square-foot skylight’s aluminum framing in a Bone White two-coat 70 percent polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) resin-based coating. “These architectural coatings meet the industry’s stringent requirements set by the American Architectural Manufacturers Association – AAMA 2605 – and exhibit outstanding resistance to humidity, color change, chalk, gloss loss and chemicals,” said Linetec’s senior marketing specialist, Tammy Schroeder, LEED® Green Associate. “These coatings deliver long-lasting performance that requires minimal maintenance throughout the buildings’ lifespan.”

Waterfall-Banquet--2014-webAs an environmentally responsible finisher, Linetec captures the liquid paints’ volatile organic compounds (VOCs) content to eliminate the exhaust of potential pollutants. The primary environmental concern with liquid paints is the solvents, which may have VOC content and must be destroyed safely. Linetec uses a 100 percent air capture system and destroys the VOCs with a regenerative thermal oxidizer, so there is no adverse environmental impact. Linetec then re-uses its heat energy byproduct to improve process energy efficiency. This process of re-use is completed before the material exits the paint line.

Further supporting The Waterfall’s environmental benefits, the skylight systems offer natural light and views through Viracon’s V34-SM(2) bronze, low-e, heat-strengthened, insulated glass. “The combination of high-performance glass and high-performance coatings on Super Sky’s skylight helps keep The Waterfall’s guests comfortable and carefree, and helps keep the facility looking picture-perfect,” added  Schroeder.

In the words of one mother-of-the-bride: “This newly remodeled venue is a treasure that North Wilmington deserves. The convenient tri-state location was exactly what my daughter was looking for. I would recommend The Waterfall to anyone planning a special event.”
